2025 PAYSTRAX Year Overview

2025 was a blast! At the start of the year, we knew it would be busy based on the goals we’d set. Fast forward twelve months and PAYSTRAX had grown significantly, expanded its presence across Europe, welcomed many new talents and strengthened its role in the global payments’ ecosystem.

Here’s to celebrating what we’ve accomplished so far and getting ready for an even busier year ahead!

Nochex acquisition

One of the biggest milestones of 2025 was the acquisition of Nochex – one of the UK’s first online payment service providers. With Nochex joining the PAYSTRAX group, we significantly strengthened our UK presence with a second office in the UK, now in Leeds. We also brought decades of payments expertise under one roof and positioned PAYSTRAX even more strongly for long-term growth in the UK and beyond.

By the end of the year, PAYSTRAX was operating from five offices across Europe, supporting a growing international client base and scaling our infrastructure, teams and partnerships to match.

A year of growth, in every sense

Since January 2024, PAYSTRAX has grown by 58%, reaching 150+ employees by the end of 2025. Each new hire plays a part in shaping the future of PAYSTRAX and helping us deliver excellence to our clients and partners every day. We’re proud of how fast we’re scaling and, even more importantly, of being the kind of workplace talented people choose to join.

That growth was reflected outside the company too. In 2025, PAYSTRAX LinkedIn community passed 6,000 followers! We launched the People behind PAYSTRAX video series, released our PAYSTRAX TALKS podcast, and continued sharing thought leadership, industry insights and monthly newsletters, engaging with thousands of people all over the world. Our community is growing alongside us and we’re genuinely grateful for it.

Learning never stops at PAYSTRAX

Employee development continues to be our major focus every year. PAYSTRAX regular Friday Training sessions alone delivered over 20 hours of structured learning per employee, led by our talented employees as well as professionals from outside the organisation. On top of that, teams organised targeted, role-specific workshops to deepen expertise where it mattered most.

One of the highlights was the Project Management Academy, led by our Head of Strategy, Donatas Voveris. The eight-hour training covered everything from scope definition and planning to budgeting, stakeholder communication and real-life case studies, with practical exercises to make sure it wasn’t just theory.

We also invested in practical life-saving skills. PAYSTRAX employees completed first aid training with the Lithuanian Red Cross, gaining hands-on knowledge that can genuinely help save someone’s life, at the office and far beyond.

Where could you have met us?

In 2025, PAYSTRAX travelled A LOT. We exhibited with our own booths at iFX EXPO Cyprus and SiGMA Rome, meeting merchants, partners and industry peers face-to-face.

Beyond exhibitions, PAYSTRAX employees participated in more than 40 external conferences and seminars, often contributing as speakers, panellists or presenters. From major European events like Money20/20 Amsterdam, ICE Barcelona and SBC Summit Lisbon, to global conferences such as Singapore FinTech Festival, we showed up wherever the payments conversation was happening and proudly represented PAYSTRAX.

Hosting the EPSM AGM

One event that truly stood out in 2025 was the EPSM Annual General Meeting – for the first time ever in the Baltics and hosted by PAYSTRAX. PAYSTRAX welcomed payment leaders from 9 countries to Vilnius, bringing together some of the most influential organisations in the European payments’ ecosystem. The event combined strategic discussions, regulatory insights and local market perspectives, while spotlighting Lithuania’s growing role in fintech. Hosting this meeting was a clear indicator that PAYSTRAX is an active contributor to the broader payments industry.

“If you’re not moving, you’re sinking”

This was the motto of our Kick Off 2025, and we took it both metaphorically and literally.

Throughout the year, PAYSTRAX employees took part in three running events across Vilnius and Klaipėda. Supporting charitable causes and personal goals alike, we joined Vilties Bėgimas (Hope Run), the Vilnius Half-Marathon, and the Vilnius Marathon, proudly representing PAYSTRAX in branded t-shirts that helped feel the team spirit.

Over the summer, we also joined the Walk15 challenge with an ambitious idea: walk around the Earth, inspired by Magellan’s journey. 66 employees participated, collectively covering 29,074 km or 40,703,820 steps. Along the way, the initiative contributed to an estimated 5,229 kg reduction in CO₂ emissions and the virtual planting of 145,371 trees. That’s a great reminder that even small everyday choices can add up to meaningful impact.

Industry recognition

Throughout the year we’ve made quite a few shortlists and even got awarded! At the Ecommerce Awards 2025, PAYSTRAX received Bronze for Best eCommerce Payment Solution. Meanwhile, at the UK FinTech Awards 2025, our Co-founder & CEO Johannes Ingi Kolbeinsson received a special commendation as runner-up in the Rising Star of the Year category. Being recognised alongside other great companies in the industry is both an honour and a strong motivator to continue reaching for the new heights.

Security always comes first

In 2025, we strengthened the foundations that matter most and got a certificate that proves it! PAYSTRAX successfully obtained a PCI DSS compliance certification, proving that our systems and processes meet the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard designed to protect cardholder data across the payments lifecycle.

Embracing PAYSTRAX traditions

Some things didn’t change but that’s not always a bad thing. Since one of PAYSTRAX values is FUN, we continued traditions that helped us hold on to it:

🎉 As every year, employees and friends of the company joined the Vilnius City festival Thank You, Iceland, celebrating and honouring the friendship between Iceland and Lithuania.

🎉 We closed the summer with our annual two-day KickOff event, bringing all PAYSTRAXers together, this time in Klaipėda, for team building and recharging for the year ahead.

🎉 We wrapped up the year on a festive note with the Holiday Party in each office, ending 2025 on a joyful note.

We also enjoyed many smaller events, such as our monthly Friday lunch tradition, game nights, birthday celebrations and much more. Each gathering helped us connect outside of work as people, strengthening our team spirit and fostering a sense of community.
