Every June, Vilnius throws a very special celebration to say Thank you, Iceland. Why? Because back in 1991, Iceland was the first country to recognise Lithuania’s restored independence.
At PAYSTRAX, this event holds even more significance, not only because we’re proudly based in Lithuania and Iceland, but also because our company was founded by Icelanders. Naturally, “Thank You, Iceland” has become one of our favourite traditions.
This year, on June 13th, we invited our team, partners, and friends to join us for a fun evening together. We started at Sanatorija bar on Vilniaus Street, enjoying drinks, food, and great company. It was a chance to catch up, laugh, and just enjoy the evening.
After a wonderful time at Sanatorija Bar, we headed to Islandijos Street, where the “Thank You, Iceland” Vilnius City festival was in full swing. Our team joined the Viking Tournament – pulling ropes, guessing Icelandic words and songs, and having a blast along the way. We also got to experience a live performance of the Icelandic band “Daughters of Reykjavik”, and meet an Icelandic actress Ragga Ragnars from the popular TV series “Vikings”. Safe to say, it was a night to remember.
We’re grateful to everyone who joined us – we couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate friendship, freedom, and community.
